Sunninghill & Ascot Parish Council are seeking nominations for “Ambassadors of the Parish”
On Thursday 2 June we will be hosting our Platinum Party in the Park , part of the official events taking place to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
We are looking for members of our community within Sunninghill and Ascot to light our Jubilee Beacon at Victory Field Recreation Ground on the evening.
To commemorate each decade of the Queen’s Reign, ideally we would like a Torch Bearer born in each of the seven decades to assist in lighting our Platinum Jubilee Beacon.
The seven successful nominees will parade to the beacon and join in the ceremonial lighting at 9.45pm.
We are asking you to put forward nominees that are the unsung heroes of the Parish. If you know of someone who has put others before themselves as fundraisers, carers, volunteers during lockdown, heroes from our public services, military, emergency services for example or someone who has lead by example or triumphed through adversity, or battled a serious illness and you think they deserve to be recognised by the community then please do nominate them in one of the following categories:
Decade 1 Someone born between 1952 and 1961
Decade 2 Someone born between 1962 and 1971
Decade 3 Someone born between 1972 and 1981
Decade 4 Someone born between 1982 and 1991
Decade 5 Someone born between 1992 and 2001
Decade 6 Someone born between 2002 and 2011
Decade 7 Someone born in 2012 (min age of 10)
Nominees should ideally be able to manage a burning torch and be able to climb a set of steps, although we will find ways to accommodate anyone with restricted mobility.
Send your nominations to email@example.com Platinum Party Beacon Nominee.
It is time to show how much we appreciated our unsung heroes!
