Ascot High Street rejuvenation and the proposed community building – seeking your views

Proposals for the rejuvenation of Ascot High Street include a community building which will be located beside the central piazza.

We need your views

  • What are your views on the proposal for a community building?
  • the facilities the building should provide?
  • the activities it should include?

Sunninghill & Ascot Parish Council has already spoken to community groups, students at Charters School, mothers with young children and members of the public who attended the consultation event, held at Ascot Racecourse on 22 May.

The responses so far have been positive. We have received suggestions for activities that could be held in the community building such as, dance/ exercise classes, performing arts space, parent/toddler groups, social clubs and Rainbow/Brownies/Cubs & Scouts.

We are looking to create a flexible venue that will serve the needs of as many users as possible. It is currently proposed that the building will include a large hall that can be adapted for a range of different uses, as well as smaller meeting rooms also available for hire. These rooms are likely to be situated on the 1st floor of the new building, with inclusive access.

Together we have the opportunity to shape the design of these facilities and your perspective will help us determine how the new building might best be adapted for current and future needs. Therefore, we really want to hear your thoughts on the facilities this building should offer.
