Forthcoming engineering works on Network Rail

We have been informed by Network Rail that they will be undertaking important engineering works between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction from Christmas Day 2020 to Sunday 3 January 2021.  During this time a significantly reduced service will be operating on all parts of the Southern Western Railway network.

Ahead of this work, Network Rail will be holding a Zoom information session for local residents and stakeholders, on Tuesday 1 December 2020 at 6 pm.  If you wish to join the session, please email SouthernRegionStakeholders@networkrail.co.uk and they will send you the joining instructions.  The Network Rail project team and South Western Railway will be available to answer any questions you may have.

The closures will be as follows:

  • Vauxhall and Queenstown Road stations will be closed for the duration of the work
  • London Waterloo and Clapham Junction may have queuing systems in operation – this is to help maintain social distancing for passengers
  • There will be no service on the SWR network on Christmas Day or Boxing Day
  • From Sunday 27 December 2020 to Sunday 3 January 2021, a significantly reduced service will be in operation – online journey planners will be updated in the Autumn and passengers should check before they travel at nationalrail.co.uk

For the duration of the works, trains on the Windsor lines (via Putney) will terminate at Clapham Junction
