HRH The Duke of Edinburgh – Commemoration and Condolence

It was with great sadness that we have learned of the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh on Friday 9 April.

The Parish Council wishes to send condolences to Her Majesty The Queen and her family on behalf of the Parishioners of Sunninghill and Ascot.

Our flags will be flying at half-mast as a sign of respect until Sunday 18 April and the Parish Council will be following the protocols as laid out by HM Government.

The funeral of His Royal Highness will be taking place, privately, in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle this coming Saturday 17 April at 1500.

Whilst the service will be held behind closed doors, it will be televised and we encourage people who wish to watch it to do so from their own homes and to avoid making non-essential journeys to Windsor.
