On Tuesday 13 April the sun was shining as volunteers from the Ascot and Sunninghill Litter Squad joined Parish Councillors and Ascot Racecourse staff for a thorough Spring clean of the heath.
The socially distanced litter pick involved 4 groups tackling different areas, from the playground and cricket club to the shrubs and bushes and perimeter.
The haul was 30 plus bags with notable finds being lengths of wire, a tent and several camping chairs.
Afterwards, volunteers were treated to a well deserved complimentary coffee courtesy of Coffee at the Heath.
We look forward to doing future community litter picks in our area.
Sunninghill and Ascot Parish Council started the LitterSquad in November last year with more than 60 bits of kit distributed to our community. To get involved please email Councillor Lydia Davison lydia.davison@s-a-pc.com
